I taught composition at The Hartt School, University of Hartford for 38 years. In Fall 2022 I was Slee Professor of Music at University at Buffalo (SUNY).  I've now retired officially at all posts as of May 2023.

My primary work has been private lesson and seminars (including such topics as Max/MSP, Music of Charles Ives, Minimalism and Postmodernism, and Writing About Music).
